About Us
Julie Manriquez
Julie has taught group exercise classes for decades. Originally from the Bay Area, Julie worked as an English teacher and tech writer while moonlighting as a fitness instructor. In 1998 Julie relocated to San Diego where she expanded her health and wellness practice. She discovered yoga while recovering from a running injury; the stillness and harmony unearthed on the mat allowed her to never look back! After obtaining her 200-Hour Teacher Training from Prana Yoga in La Jolla, Julie cultivated a yogic teaching style comprised of alignment-based creative sequencing, awareness, and a playfulness that allows for acceptance, letting go, and ultimately growth. When teaching and practicing yoga, Julie incorporates Pilates and functional training to foster strength, balance, and communication from head to toe.
Off the mat, Julie enjoys writing, the performing arts, and exploring mountaintops and distant oceans with her family.
“Teaching yoga energizes and inspires me, as each mindful venture to the mat promises a new perspective in experiencing our essential selves.”
In addition to her Teacher Training, Julie has a B.A in Communications from UCSB, a Secondary Education/English degree from San Jose State, AFAA certification, and she is trained in Pilates Mat and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
